Plants collected within a 1 mile radius of my home while I was living in Val Verde, California are arranged and classified as if they were elements in the Periodic Table. The project was a botanical record of the frequent walks I would take near my home, as well as a commentary on my lack of useful knowledge (medicinal or otherwise) about the plant specimens I would find there. A simultaneous nod to the classical western urge to classify and the allure of the natural world, when left to speak for itself, unexplained or defined.
